Waterkaarten introduces renewed app for 2025 sailing season

Waterkaarten, formerly known as ANWB Waterkaarten, is launching a comprehensive update to their app in preparation for the 2025 boating season. This version introduces several new features designed to improve the navigation experience for boaters.

Main innovations:

• Expansion into Danish waters: Following the successful addition of France last year, users can now also navigate Danish waters, opening up new possibilities for exploring Scandinavia.
• Setting home port: Users can add their own home port, making it easier to plan routes to and from this location.
• Personal cruising speed: It is possible to enter the average cruising speed of the boat, which allows the route planner to calculate more accurate travel times.
• Multi-language support: The app is now fully available in Dutch, English and German, increasing accessibility to a wider audience.
• Depth contours: A new map layer has been added with more depth contours, which will especially benefit sailors when navigating in different waters.
