From now on your engine is not only the drive but also a generator! Incredibly short charging times and suitable for all battery types.

The Cruiser High output alternator

The GenMAAX super high output alternator

Is everything you need to go off grid. It provides all your boat power needs and turns your alternator into a powerful generator.

The frames are anodised with a special salt water resistant coating which radically improves heat dissipation which is vital for any alternator over 160amps.

The GenMAAX Super-High-Output alternator is available in 215 Amp and 250 Amp 12V or 165 Amp in 24V

The E-MAAX PRO-X Smart Regulator

For comprehensive control and monitoring of your entire 12V system on board. The E-Maax Pro X has WiFi and NMEA2000 on board as standard. Monitoring on your chartplotter or even adjusting settings on your phone or tablet, it's all possible.

The E-MAAX PRO-X is easy to install and offers the ultimate ease of installation and operation. It is delivered pre-programmed and therefore adapted to your situation, of course taking into account battery type and total capacity. If you want to replace or upgrade the batteries in the future, the system settings are easily updated and there are also many charging profiles to choose from. Changes can easily be made in the USI of the Pro-X (User System Interface).

In addition, you can select a pre-programmed profile via the USI or use the customization tool to create your own profile. The USI is easily accessible via USB or WiFi. If you are not sure how to do this, don't worry, one of our technicians will do it for you remotely. No old-fashioned, manual dip switches are used. The entire E-MAAX line-up is completely software based.

Serpentine Pulley Kits

Finally, there is a permanent solution for your engine belt dust. And what is more important, you can now significantly increase the power of the alternator, without the fear of damaging your engine or electrical system. On the contrary, you can now load the engine in the best way even during stationary charging.

With our Pulley Upgrade Kits! These are available for almost all models of Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Nanni, Perkins, Vetus, Westerbeke, Universal and more!

ElectroMaax produces the most technologically advanced energy-saving products in the maritime industry.

From high-output alternators producing up to 4 times the energy of standard models to smart controllers that allow owners and engineers to monitor and/or modify charging performance and parameters locally or from halfway around the world via a laptop.

At ElectroMaax, we always choose function, reliability and performance over cosmetic beauty and we design and build all our products with this important principle in mind. A thought that fits seamlessly with the values of Smartmarine.

Smartmarine, under the flag of SmartmarineEnergy, is the unique distributor of Electromaax products in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and dealthere in the rest of Europe.

ElectroMaax is engineered and manufactured in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada and was founded in September 2002. This location manufactures our alternators, serpentine pulley kits, premium LiFePO4 batteries and many other products in the ElectroMaax product line, as well as components used in our manufacturing processes.

Frequently asked questions

There are two possible situations:

  1. Your engine has a traditional V-belt

No problem! Electromaax has pulley kits for over 500 different engines. There is probably a pulley kit for your engine. We do not have everything in stock, but we can supply a set for most engines. Are you unsure whether the pulley kit fits? Feel free to contact us via henk@smartmarine. Nl.

  2. You already have a serpentine belt

In most cases we have a suitable pulley for your multi-belt.

Yes, the old pulley comes off and a new pulley is put on. This simply rotates with your water pump. You can always contact us mail for questions.

Yes, this is possible with an extra pulley that comes with the kit.

No, Electromaax dynamos are only suitable for a serpentine belt. These dynamos are so powerful that only a serpentine belt can handle the load. In addition, a serpentine belt prevents the black deposits that a V-belt leaves in your engine compartment.

In principle, the serpentine belt lasts a lifetime, which makes it cheaper and safer than a V-belt in the long run.

Yes, with the right charging profile this is definitely possible. This is a big advantage of these dynamos. It may require some minor adjustments to your system, but then you can charge with high amperages. For advice you can always email us.

Yes, it is possible, but it depends on the situation. Contact us so we can guide you.

Max. about 3 HP. If you need these HP's, you can switch off the dynamo via your phone or laptop for example.

  • SM stands for Saddle Mount.
  • FM stands for Foot Mount.
  • In some cases you also see JM, this has to do with the mounting bracket on the dynamo.

If you are not sure which one you need, feel free to send us a message message.

Yes, we sell a 165 Ampere Genmaax dynamo.

  • Cruiser models are lighter dynamos and are available in 100, 120, 140 and 160 Ampere (only in 12V).
  • Genmaax models are heavier. They are available in 12V (215 and 250 Ampere) and 24V (165 Ampere). These models are supplied as standard with a Remote Rectifier.

A Remote Rectifier helps to remove heat from the engine compartment, which improves the performance of your alternator. The Remote Rectifier only fits the Genmaax models 250Ampere (12V) and the 165Ampere (24v) and not the Cruiser models.

We always recommend a controller, you can also use other brands but for optimal performance we recommend an E-MAAX controller. With the E-MAAX you can make all adjustments via your laptop and some adjustments via the phone or tablet adjustments. You also get more control thanks to the included temperature and current shunts.

Yes, the E-MAAX has an NMEA 2000 connection. Quark-Elec is also working on an integration with their latest IS20. You can also see the data on your plotter.

Electromaax works together with Victron to the new panbus support and will soon come with an E-MAAX controller that has CanBus connectivity, allowing integration with Victron makes possible.

  • Charging capacity from 100 to 250 Ampere on 12V or 165 Ampere on 24V.
  • Faster charging, less wear and tear on your engine and less diesel consumption.
  • No generator needed, which saves space.
  • Solar panels or wind generators become redundant in some cases, because a short trip can be enough to charge your batteries.

The installation of the pulley set is quite simple. First loosen the bolts of the water pump and then you can loosen the dynamo. And you can remove the pulley from the water pump. Then the new water pump pulley goes on and the crankshaft pulley can be placed over the existing one. Then the dynamo and multi-belt. This is done in an hour if nothing is against it. Then comes the connection of the dynamo and regulator. This depends on the situation and would certainly take 1 to 2 days.

This also depends on the situation, but in principle key tools for the pulleys and much more is needed for the electrical system such as cables, cable lugs, crimping pliers, etc.

With some technical knowledge, this is easy to do yourself. Of course, you can always ask us for advice. If you have little knowledge of electricity, we always advise to have this done by a professional.

Smartmarine does not install dynamos themselves, but we work with a partner who can do this professionally at a favorable rate. Feel free to inquire about the possibilities.
